There are table top and proving runs required by the FAA when a new aircraft comes on a certificate. Those are done.

Why would you go take a 30 million dollar empty jet around the pattern for no reason?

But I guess I'm they same guy that asks people all the time why you would go take out 100k in loans to come fly a jet for 22k a year.

I'm confused...

Who cares about ANY of this?... Embraer super e jets. Mesa this mesa that! Blahblahblah.. You guys blow my mind. Every mesa pilot read the freakin pay scale when they took the job. They knew they'd be in poverty for a while. That's their choice to make! I personally think prior121 posts way too much to defend his company, but at the same time he gives off this "I don't give a shh-- about you trash talkers"- vibe.. I like it.

Beers on me bro.

Ps ALT'd my deadhead from ORD the other day and took mesa home. Crew was pretty nice and chatted before I got on. Hope to do it again sometime

And if 80% is the passing score on your ATP, then why they hell should you get more than 80% of it correct? You only have to land an aircraft correctly 4 out of 5 times, right? Bare minimum.

IMO, the biggest thing with airlines that have very weak screening processes are that you will probably be flying with some interesting characters that would make a 4 day almost unbearable. I quote a 2 year Mesa FO saying that a lot of the CAs are very "creepy".
There should be some sort of measure in place to get quality people.

That's my point. You can make your mouth say anything, but reading a persons body language speaks volumes. Better to catch them before you put them out on line. Scary stuff.

What do current Mesa pilots think of this practice?

Please don't construed my points.
I never said that you stated anything negative about Eagle. My response is an effort to answer your original musing as to why people bash MESA.

You stated: "All this Mesa bashing baffles me"

[QUOTE=NVUS;1643827]I'm being told that Mesa's 175s are sitting in PHX right now, and parked in a way that would make you believe they are being stored. Shouldn't they be out doing proving runs? Training? 30 days to go, JO. Tick...tick...tick[/

Certified 7 weeks ahead of schedule so not a lot to do now.

Skywest had trouble getting 900's on their certificate as well. I'm sure if they put in enough hours they'll get the 175's done.

So Skywest makes everyone from both seats fly the aircraft empty before they feel it's safe to put Pax in the back? We use IOE for that.
