Sorry you chose to go to a higher-paying regional with a longer upgrade time. But it's not my responsibility to tell FOs whether they should or shouldn't come to work here--they're grown adults--they can make an informed decision based on their own risk-tolerance and personal motivations.

Smh. I'm quite happy where I'm at. You truly don't get it. Way to let your maturity shine.

Funny - flaps is probably the most mature person I know. That insult holds no water.

Almost nobody on this forum was around when the events transpired to cause Mesa's current contract. Nobody here voted in American's first B-scale. Nobody here voted to sell scope at mainline. Nobody here became head of ALPA and killed pattern bargaining. Nobody here went to Desert Sun or Freedom to whipsaw the rest of the pilot group (f--k those guys). Nobody here voted for the previous contracts. Nobody here wants to be near the bottom of the industry in pay.

Come back in a week and see how big our NO margin was on this TA. It's going down in flames, and unlike Envoy there's a growing consensus here that it might be better to let it burn than capitulate.

No there isn't. And in this market it'd be idiotic to put yourself on the street when moving on is a real possibility. There's nothing stopping anyone from going to a 91/135 or an LCC, which is a lot easier when you're already employed.

I haven't heard a peep that if we don't vote this contract in we are going to go under, or lose flying, or even miss out on future flying. So I'm not sure how "let it burn" applies to our situation since our current contract is a little cheaper than what's on the table. I think the company would be economically quite satisfied with a "no" vote. It puts another $14m back in their pockets for the next 5 years to use in case they have to start paying a hiring bonus to supplement the upgrade carrot.

Mesa will be in hot water when it can no longer attract pilots solely with a quick upgrade carrot. That day is coming but apparently they have a few tricks up their sleeve they are hoping will fix that...one of them being: acquiring a 135 outfit with a flow to Mesa to provide "career progression" to low hour pilots. They haven't needed it yet, that's why it's still only just a talking point (heard it for over a year now) not an action item.

Yes, I have also heard a growing consensus to "let it burn", not that that is even on the table. But that's how far the pilots are ready to go at this point. Frustration is at an all time high.

It is no longer a threat to lose your job when pilots are in such high demand. Going almost anywhere else will increase your pay and benefits, and probably QOL. Any ATP, type-rated, experienced pilot will have a job within a week if they want one.

Losing a pilot job from a sub-par paying company is not really a threat to most pilots anymore. You can go anywhere and do better. Times have changed. Each airline will either have to keep up with changing market conditions, or deal with the consequences. Management has to make it attractive for FOs in addition to Captains. It still takes TWO pilots to fly an airplane.

Please inform us all how Mesa will attract a pilot from a 135 operation? Almost all 135 ops pay their pilots more than Mesa's first year FO pay. This is a ridiculous notion on the part of mgmt and you are foolish if you believe or trust them.
The upgrade carrot is long gone and out of reach. No new/more flying, low attrition and the lowest payrates.

Settle down Captain Happy, I wasn't claiming they would be successful in their endeavors, only that they have alternative plans in place for an inability to fill classes that do not include giving us a better TA.
