Mesa 3.0

I'm trying to figure out why any of care what goes on here at Mesa? You don't work here but yet you come here (I acknowledge that you have every right to) and trash not only the company but the pilot group. Smutter calls us "inmates."
GSCFI, skyvector, smutter and ChrisReed, and other non Mesa folks, why do you come here and try to convince us what we already know? We're grown men and women. We made our choice and don't you think we could move on if we would? Maybe starting at another regional (and yes that is exactly what PSA, Envoy, Skywest etc. are) would make sense to you but maybe it doesn't to us yet. If we are missing the boat what difference is it to you? Yes, we would make more money etc. but we'd still be working for a regional. Does it make you all feel good to tear down others? Does it make you feel better about your decisions? I'm glad the race to the top (hopefully) has begun. I'm glad you all are glad about your choices. But please stop tearing down our pilot group. I would guess most of you have never worked here and only know what you have been told. I have been here over a year and I can tell you the pilots I have flown with are great. Our chief pilot is great. I'm happy with my seniority and my schedules.
I was guilty of painting with a broad brush about PSA pilots and I was wrong. ChrisReed called me on it and he was right.
So flame away. Call us names.

I never met Chris Reed, but I believe him to be a good guy that tries really hard to stay logical and level headed. He is also smart enough to not take the troll bait, a test that his Envoy counterparts fail misserably at.

I've conversed with him via PM and agree but he's still here trying to convince us what we already know.

I think he is bewildered that we know the situatuon, yet stay where we are. The truth is rather simple, it's the easiest thing to do and most of us look at the positives in such a way as to justify why we stay, while just dealing with the negatives. No one wants to make a sideways move, even though the compensation really makes it a slightly diagonal move. Money is one thing, time invested is a much bigger thing

It's been said but I'm going to say it again
PLEASE no-one come to Mesa!! The quick upgrade is gone and there is way more money to be made at ANY other carrier. The only way it'll get better is if people stop showing up.
You may ask why am I here? I caught the "gravy train" and live in IAH. 2yrs here and almost hold a line as a CA. This WILL not be the case for anyone coming here now. Last delivery within a week and that's all she wrote.

I can't imagine this 'appreciation party' would be well attended....but then again, those that go should make a statement (or a scene) by showing up at the dinner buffet with gallon size ziploc bags, and start their grocery shopping from the buffet line. :-)
Maybe they will have a slick 47 foot sailboat as the ballroom centerpiece.

In other company news, and as Dave Barry says "I am not making this up":
Safety Dept at Mesa today informed at least two pilots who have stayed at the La Quinta in Memphis within the last x weeks, that the hotel has tested positive for Legionnaire's Disease and it was 'suggested' the employees seek medical testing if there are any potential symptoms.
What is beyond me is why there hasn't been an all-aircrew email blast sent out notifying us. I strongly suggest you send this information to everyone you know that may have stayed at this hotel.
