Sorry for the delay. I'm not trying to become the resident expert here, and this is still my first week. It was 6 months from app to interview and another 6 months to start. I have to say the scoring is a complete mystery.
There are a lot of Guard guys, at least one other in my branch. It is definetly doable, you get the same 120 hours of mil leave that full-time guard technicians do. I happen to live close to both my branch and unit, but I know of one dude driving 300 miles to his unit. He drills in large blocks.

I just got back from the interview last night. I have over 9000 hours, but if you review usajobs.gov or previous threads, it states that they are looking for 1500 hours total, 100 hours within the last 12 months, 250 PIC, 75 hours of night. Make sure you double check, I'm going by memory.
My question to the guys who interviewed, how long does it take to get a call back or letter in the mail saying whether they want you or not. I heard it takes a few months.
I appreciate it.
