Default Interview timing

How far out from your availability date can you expect an interview? I've had my applications in for quite a while (SWA, UPS, CAL, DAL) but haven't heard anything. I'm available in Mar 08.

I've heard that the airlines typically look 2-3 months out, but I also run into several people who found out that they got hired 6-9 months out.

Thanks,
Riddler

I've heard those stories as well. But don't plan on anything more than 2 months at most. The majority of the people I've talked to have been more like a few days or weeks. I got my first call at 1 month exactly.

Riddler, same boat here with Mar08.

I got lucky with United and I think it is because there is nowhere in the process until interview where you can even tell them your availability date. I told them at the interview and thought it might be my doom. It wasn't fortunately.

As for SWA, Continental, and Delta, it has been half a year and less with their apps and no call. I am hoping that a face to face at an upcoming job fair will help push my app along faster.
