From what I've heard, you can be on ADSW orders as long as they're no longer than 180 days at a time and not have to pay the VSP back up front. However like you said, once you start collecting retirement, they'll take a portion of that until you're paid up.

It showed up in my AFRC/Reserve email I think- if you didn't go straight to a Reserve unit or maybe also into a flying slot, Rand may not have searched you out.
It was the first survey I ever took w/ a smile on my face and a few "hey guys, come check this out" exclamations....
