Default Recruitment Question

It’s my understanding that there are two types of recruiting offices. Ones that recruit for all levels (Enlisted and Officer) and other that recruit for just Officer’s.

Could someone please confirm or correct this. And inform me how I locate the AirForce Officer’s recruitment office in Arizona?

Thanks

If you want to be an officer find an officer recruiter. Hint: He/she will probably be a commissioned officer.

The enlisted recruiters priority is filling hard-to-fill enlisted MOS's...they will not let anything get in the way of that.

I enlisted in the USMC in HS...so after I got into Annapolis, the recruiter tried to talk me into blowing that off so I could be a grunt instead. That would be a very bad call for almost anyone

Personal experience was that my USAF Officer Assessions Recruiters were E-5s through E-7s. Never saw an O except for my application interview.

When I was talking with the Marines briefly, the Officer Selections Officer (OSO if I recall correctly) was an O-3 and a gunny as his assistant.

Rick,

This what I am trying to understand. How do I locate the Officer's, just ask all of the recruiter's if they are? Or is there a specific office that they will be out of?

Thanks

Recruiter Locator - Contact the U.S. Air Force - AirForce.com

Find a local office and call. Ask for an Officer Assessions Recruiter.

10 characters? huh?

Anyways - if you run into any trouble, we'll get it figured out

It would not let me just type “Thanks” it needs a minimum of ten characters and I couldn’t think of anything else to say…

Another question about getting started..

When can/should I start the process of putting an application package together for an OTS and UPT slot? Can this be done before I complete my degree? It’s my understanding that this process can be very lengthy and I would like to understand it a little more.

Thanks

The "Actual" officer recruiters are not Officers...just want to make sure you got that out of the previous posts. Mine was a MSGT. Specifically an "Officer Accessions Recruiter."

I think Rickair was just implying that you want to talk to as many officers (non-recruiters) as you can, since they often know more (or better) than the recruiters.

Final year of your degree can be sufficient - maybe an extra semester early so you can move along as you need for the AFOQT, medical screen, BATS, etc. However, when your package does go in, you have to show proof that you WILL have a degree. So that basically means your final semester is when you're aiming to get selected (speaking from my experience). The recruiter will know what's going on these days vs my 5-years-gone memories. OTS is "funny". I've talked to guys who had to pack and leave pretty quickly after getting accepted (relatively speaking) and I had to wait 13 months from the phone call to walking up to OTS.

www.baseops.net and www.airforceots.com can offer plenty of process info.
