we should put him in a B-52
anyone who sees a B-52 bearing down on them KNOWS it means business
I love the idea. He wouldn't look too menacing, though. It'd be more like Dukakis riding around in that tank.

I could see this group of socialist going all out for this one. Telling the American public that it's an oppurtunity for us to re-build our image in the global community.

Mod note:

Tread carefully with the political leaning of the discussion. Please keep focused on the possibility of an A380 as AF1.

Given the opportunity, the euros would probably do it even if they lost money...the bragging rights would be priceless in the global A&D market.

The 747 can fly to more airports ... A LOT more airports than the A380. Based on that alone, the A380 will never be the Air Force's choice to fly the President in.

In addition, the 747 is a proven aircraft with many hours under it's belt. The A380 is essentially still an experimental aircraft. It will need a decade or two to work out the bugs.

Sure, Airbus can waste their money bidding, but there's no way in he11 that they'll win.

From the previous posts it is apparent most believe the choice will be a political one and not on the merits of the individual airplane. No surprises here...

Personally I believe if the POTUS takes any money from the government.. oh.. never mind.
