I thought I read last week where Airbus declined to bid on the contract citing political sensitivity to the project. As a result, the next AF1 will be a Boeing bird. I would suspect another 747 as 4 engines may be more appealing than just two.

Why? In case you hit birds on departure and crash in a river? Like that would ever happen...
