Some of the phones on that site are wrong.
Its easy to take the TBAS at McGuire but your recruiter has to schedule it, you cannot just call. And you can take the AFOQT without a degree, I took it with a bunch of 18 yr olds at University of Delaware.

I finally got the TBAS scheduled, taking it at Manhattan College through their ROTC detachment. I've scheduled the AFOQT with the NJANG. It pays off to call everyone with in a 2 hour drive. Thanks for all the help. If anyone has any pointers i'd appreciate them.

Number one pointer....never quit or let up. Even if you think you flunked the section, keep going all the way to the end as hard as when you started it. I felt I did not do that great...made lots of mistakes, but I did not let up one bit and somehow I ended up almost acing the thing. 98 PCSM.

Hey, on the bright side, if you finish pilot training you'll only have to deal with this mind-numbing nonsense at every single base you live at for the next 10 years minimum.

Good luck!

Go to the library or bookstore and buy the study guide for the AFOQT.

I remember falling asleep during my BAT test.

AFOQT - everything is pretty easy and straight forward... I think the table reading was a little time-crunched

TBAS - read the directions very well - try to understand exactly what you need to do before you do it. The first part of the TBAS is easy, but it's easy to make mistakes by going too fast - I've heard that accuracy counts more than time. The middle part kinda reminded me of a mix instrument flying with no trim system (or a very out of trim airplane) and an extremely sensitive stick and rudder pedals with no feedback (a little annoying). The last part, just remember to read everything very, very well before you begin.

Thanks for the info. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll do well. I've studied for the AFOQT, but will keep spending any ounce of available time studying. I googled the TBAS, and got an idea of what's on it.

Just took the TBAS today. Wow! What a test. Although I can't discuss the contents of the test all I'll say is this. Every intution I had developed as a pilot was thrown way out of wack with all the multi-tasking. If some one isn't able to multi-task, they are going to be screwed.
The proctor said that I had the same horrified look as every other tester who has flight experience. Maybe this is a good thing in that I did well.
I'm taking my AFOQT on the 5th, so I'm studying up for that.

Haha... I hear ya. Nothing like the real thing. Based on your profile, I take it your getting your CFI. After you have your first student, the multitasking gets a little easier
