FWIW, all three dudes are former AD IPs in the same squadron. We are a big fan of the known quantity returning letterman over LT/CAPT Smith from somewhere else. Chances are slim for you here but PM me if you want a number for the guy who can talk your ear off about it (not me).

Now you have.
Thanks for the correction. Honestly had never heard of it(until now) of the few dudes I know to have transitioned and assumed(wrongly I guess) that with the cut in O-5/O-6 end strength, it would be even harder. My question then I guess would be: How do AF evaluations/FITREPs equate when briefed in a tank for promotion? Perhaps those guys had enough paperwork as a SELRES to get there.

I almost did it but then I showed up to the interview and changed my mind after I saw the interviewing committee

The short answer is "I don't know" but I guess you could substitute "well enough" in there too They had 2-3 years of SELRES FITREPS but even OPRs for the 3-4 years before those were from one of the squadrons down here so they probably read more "Navy" than the typical white jet AF Capt.

I wouldn't worry about that, the President is going to make it all OK tonight.

Wish I had a nickel for every time I've heard that.

My reasons were primarily geography (close to my kids.) And, without a doubt, the chance to land on a boat was hard to pass up.

I'm having a hoot flying the T-45 and learning to speak Navy-ese. Once airborne, things aren't too terribly different. The lift vectors don't seem to care about the service of the wings they are attached to.

If somebody needs help with the AF to Navy sex change, PM me. I have a PhD in it now.

Guess that explains the "Silver to Gold."
