Grizz-
Keep in mind the AF will barely give you the time of day if you don't have an engineering degree of some sort. For the Nav, they don't care that much about the type of degree, but weigh your GPA more significantly. The jarheads are exactly right in that your efforts and determination to get through the application processes for all branches, will show how badly you want in.
The navy's MH60's still have the new car smell to them and can be quite enjoyable if you like to pretend a lot. Army warrants fly a ton and really shoot stuff, AF helo pilots are second class citizens in the AF, Marines deploy all the time and usually are the last ones to get new toys... I hate to say it, but the Coasties fly real SAR missions and tend complain less than most others..
Take it for what it's worth, but they all have pro's and con's. I'd recommend tossing out as many applications as possible and take the first one that says yes.
