Default Palace Chase with over 6 years left on ADSC?

Is it possible? I've heard some people say with the need for manpower cuts it's definitely possible and others say don't bother until you're within 1 year of your ADSC.

Check out the forums over at Baseops.net. Within 1 yr seems to be the norm although I have personally seen guys with about 3 yrs left get approved recently. You never know untill you apply, but be warned; you'd better have an understanding Sq/CC AND an understanding Gp/CC AND an understanding Wg/CC. Get the picture? Sure, only the SECAF's office can
approve/dissaprove, but the next 6 yrs of your life could become difficult if you aren't careful. Good luck with whatever decision you make.

I completly agree with Tank-Driver. I wanted to Palace Chase when I was in my first assignment as a LT. Too much queep in AD. One thing you can do is call your functional before you make any moves and ask if your PC will go through. They are usually very straight forward and you won't shoot yourself in the foot showing your cards. I decided not to PC because I was told it would never be approved in the A-10 community. I know that if you have a year left its more likely to. Good luck.
