Bring on the facts.

What are the facts? Again and again and again — what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore divine revelation, forget what “the stars foretell,” avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable “verdict of history” — what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your single clue. Get the facts!

Facts are not questionable, opinions are always questionable.

Facts are often in short supply.

When the need arises — and it does — you must be able to shoot your own dog. Don’t farm it out — that doesn’t make it nicer, it makes it worse.

Stupidity cannot be cured with money, or through education, or by legislation. Stupidity is not a sin, the victim can’t help being stupid. But stupidity is the only universal capital crime; the sentence is death, there is no appeal, and execution is carried out automatically and without pity.

Do not confuse “duty” with what other people expect of you; they are utterly different. Duty is a debt you owe to yourself to fulfill obligations you have assumed voluntarily. Paying that debt can entail anything from years of patient work to instant willingness to die. Difficult it may be, but the reward is self-respect.
But there is no reward at all for doing what other people expect of you, and to do so is not merely difficult, but impossible. It is easier to deal with a footpad than it is with the leech who wants “just a few minutes of your time, please — this won’t take long.” Time is your total capital, and the minutes of your life are painfully few. If you allow yourself to fall into the vice of agreeing to such requests, they quickly snowball to the point where these parasites will use up 100 percent of your time — and squawk for more!
So learn to say No – and to be rude about it when necessary. Otherwise you will not have time to carry out your duty, or to do your own work, and certainly no time for love and happiness. The termites will nibble away your life and leave none of it for you. (This rule does not mean that you must not do a favor for a friend, or even a stranger. But let the choice be yours. Don’t do it because it is “expected” of you.)

As always - nice quotes.
Facts are not questionable huh?
Like the world is flat and the earth is the center of the universe?
I wonder what OTHER facts will be questioned in the future Jungle.
Sorry - on this one we will just have to disagree.
In my opinion - someone's FACTS are certain questionable.
Oh how the winds change.

It is fairly simple, facts always withstand the test of time.

Flat earth or center of the universe didn't last long-the facts made it clear that gross error was involved.

Time makes lots of things clear, and the winds always blow.

And exactly what is the timeline for the "test of time" jungle?
500 years enough, maybe a 1,000?
Sorry jungle - usually you can be spot on, but if you actually believe that *facts* are unquestionable then you are off base in my opinion.
Someone thought it was a FACT that Pluto was a planet until someone else's FACT came along and changed that too.

Bah! I refuse to learn stuff more than once! Pluto is still a planet and the "apatosaurus" is still a brontosaurus. .....

Just to review:

Flat Earth, Earth as the center of the universe- opinion, though some may think it fact

Pluto-it exists no matter what we call it

It is easy to think of thousands of examples of opinions held as facts, but they never were facts and opinion never changed those facts.
Surely everyone has an opinion, but opinion is often not based on facts.

I guess if you decide to make up a definition of FACT then you can't lose jungle - nicely played.
I think I'll let the rest of the forum decide for themselves on this one.

You flatter me sir, but I didn't "make up" the definition:

Fact - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
