UAV = NADA in the commercial flying world.

Not exactly nada. RPA time is valued if you'd consider flying for Customs/Immigrations...whatever they call themselves these days.

I am concentrating on building my Radio Control Sailboat racing time so I can apply to skipper one of the next America's Cup Boats.

I wouldn't consider CBP flying in the sense of the word 'commercial flying world' the way Airhoss used the term - other than you are being paid

When I was going through training, people were competing with one another to be a FAIP. Of course this were the T-1 bubbas. Getting a couple thousand multi-engine PIC hours under your belt before hitting your MWS ... priceless. Then you don't have to spend a year or two as a co-pilot when you get to your MWS. The SQ/CC is going to pick you for Instructor or Stan/Eval which is more good flying time to have.

Every FAIP I know left the military with lots of PIC time and a nice job somewhere.

and this is how AFPC royally screwed some hard working, proficient pilots. I met some 38 grads down at Nellis getting ready to go to Creech instead of IFF. Really?

That's been going on since 2008. We had a class of 15 assignable 38 studs get dropped 5 UAVs. But there is a demand and those spots need to be filled. Sucks...hopefully they'll find a way back into an aircraft.

All jokes aside, I feel for these poor bastards. Can you imagine how crushed you would have been if there were such a thing as UAV's when we were young guns?

Oh how the world has changed...
