I was at Vets in Blue. Got the call the next day to interview!
Interviewed on the 6th.

Mil ip/ep.

The thing I'm sweating is recency, only about 220 in the last 12 months.

I think the thing about being current is more about that you are still hanging around the field. The airlines have instructors, sims and airplanes.

Mr. NoDeskJob - out of curiosity, was your availability listed as right away (or something relatively close to that?). I am retiring, but am not available till April, so I would assume they wouldn't bother to call me (if they ever do!) till sometime closer to then.

Has anyone else heard from JetBlue? Kind of quite for this thread.

NoDeskJob 11-19-2014 10:12 AM

I had available currently.
You should put your app in if you are within 12 months of retirement. There was an f16 guy with about that much time left, and he got called.

I applied on the last app window and was called first week of Sep and I had a mid-Mar availability listed. (using all my leave plus the 20 days of permissive TDY to put me in the mid-mar timeframe for terminal leave). JetBlue seems really great about working with your date so I wouldn't worry about that. Being military, they know our arms are tied when retiring.

Thanks Gents. Good to know. I think if anything gets me then, it'll be recency. I really don't have too much; less than 100 for this year and less than 200 for the last two. Not much I can do about it either excepting to get back into the swing with the regionals if JB doesn't call.

Another issue is that I had been listed as available on the application as July of 2016--which was true at the time, but has since changed to April of 15 - I added that into my cover letter but have no way of getting back into the actual application to change it...so, if they're sorting them electronically I'll get a call sometime a year after I've retired now. D'oh!
