Default Platform cuts FY15

Platform, personnel cuts likely in FY '15 Air Force budget | Air Force Times | airforcetimes.com

Going to be a rough year and sounds like a lot of us will not have a weapons system to fly. All measures will be done to save the F-35 and KC-46.

Sweet! 3 years Enlisted, 3 years Nav/WSO, and 13 years as a pilot with an ADSC of 36 more months for the pilot bonus. Surely to go non-current in the final stretch and flying a C-152 at the Aero Club may surely get my application to the bottom of the hiring pile. Anyone on a pilot bonus whom are retirement eligible ask the question to waive the ADSC?

Other platforms that could be phased out as a cost-cutting measure include the KC-10, an older transport aircraft, and the MC-12, a surveillance platform from Beechcraft.
Didn't we just buy some MC-12's ? Now we are phasing them out ?

And we wonder why the govt is broke ?

The MC-12 is AFSOC's answer to divesting the U-28. I'm sure the news of its demise will come as a surprise to them.

Well, it was kind of a "reaction" to world events 5-6 years ago, I think. For what it's worth, the "airplane" is an excellent and cheap "truck" to pack "stuff" onto.
In the long run, the cost to operate the fleet for a year will probably be much less than the purchase of a new fighter/bomber/tanker.

Not saying y'all are wrong, I've heard the same as you guys.

I just remember that I was told, after flying the 64A's, I would be flying an RAH-66 and possibly AH-64D's (imagine both of those in an Air Cav Troop!). And then later we were told that the C-27J would be replacing the C-23's.... I love picking up ANG folks in an Army aircraft for transportation, across the airport from a row of parked C-27's. What a waste.
Back on track.

We may (Army) get some, but I'll believe it, only after I see it. Past experience dictates that some last second political maneuver will nix the whole thing.
