See my previous post. If you:

a) already have an established profession of some sort (accountant, welder, etc) and
b) Intend on changing careers to become a professional pilot (and/or flight instructor).

You should be eligible for the tax credit.

If you just intend to CFI on the side, that probably doesn't count as a career change, but if you INTEND to switch careers at the time, that might make you eligible, even if you "change your mind" later on. I only mention this because we need CFI's. Talk to an accountant to be sure
