We work here and you’ll NEVER affect management through these boards.

Ever.

You might as well get a 3’ fan, turn it on high and pee into it for better satisfaction.

Ah, but in a way you seem incapable of recognizing, he CAN influence our management, albeit in a small way. The more pilots that take his advice and decide AGAINST interviewing at Netjets, the more difficult it becomes for NJ to find new pilots, the better possibility that NJ management will, ultimately, HAVE to improve pay and QOL in order to attract and RETAIN new talent.

Encouraging anybody to come to NJ is counterproductive to our best interests moving forward. As a group, we should be making it as difficult as possible for the company to fill the cockpits of all those new jets you seem to think we’re going to have in the future. Empty cockpits are the ONLY motivator this management team will ultimately react to.

Because it’s a lot more interesting than talking about NJA : )!

True. But most other fractionals treat their pilots a lot worse than NetJets, same for most charter outfits. As long as that's true NetJets will get new hires. The main disadvantage NJA has is the long upgrade times.

I believe most regional airlines can make you work on days off. At least NJA can't do that, it's voluntary with big $$$ rewards. I remember at Mesa Pilots would use the galley service door to avoid the scheduler waiting on the Jetway So regionals aren't that great either, their big draw is flow thru to the majors. They do work less and usually don't get the big circadian rhythm flips NJA sometimes get.

I think NJA is still being at least somewhat picky about who they hire, they're really into the customer service aspects. A bigger problem is keeping who they hire. That's why they wanted a 2 year training contract, not realizing what that'd do to recruiting.

Back to the topic: it doesn't help that NJASAP didn't take a hard line with the company regarding the military leave language in the contract. The contract language asserts that military members should only take military leave on their days off which is contrary to USERRA. Many military members, including myself, pointed this out while the contract was being negotiated, but the language wasn't changed. This empowers the company to try to intimidate military members and require things from them that are against USERRA. I think the contract also states military leave should be no more than two weeks and that you shouldn't volunteer for orders, but I can't remember exactly. Someone would have to pull up the contract since I don't work there anymore.

SWA is hiring Netjets pilots and they love/appreciate military pilots. There are other options out there!

You Say: name a food that is red and grows on a vine and is used as base for ketchup and spaghetti sauce.

I Say: Lobster

Then the food fight starts. And 12 days and 1000 posts later someone says a tomato and a lobster are both red so everyone chases a squirrel to the next thread and we call it a draw.

Best description I've ever read about how most aviation forums operate!

20 years ago I was a message board manager on the USAirways ALPA Board, my main function was digging up news to post but I felt more like a Romper Room Nanny most of the time....

It’s even worse on that OTHER board. Except The Shrub did manage to get himself suspended for the second time in less than three months so it has been relatively civilized lately....

90 days of relative solace and debate.

It’s so nice.
