I don't know. Not sure there is or has to be a single greatest country. I do like Austria a lot and think New Zealand sounds great. What I have no time for is unreflected, blind patriotism saying "America is th greatest country" without knowing most of the other places and what some of them may be doing better. I also fear that the past is no reliable indicator of the future so your history lesson has limited value
Isn't it the current POTUS who wants to end/limit overseas involvement?
Sure, let's ignore all the ground work done in other parts of the world (hot air balloons, gliders etc) and all the pioneering work done in the US and elsewhere by others. But if you want to believe that the Wright Brothers invented aviation, be my guest.

I believe humility, and grace leavening blind patriotism is the best way forward, I love my country , Marine infantry vet here, but acknowledge it’s flaws, the current upheavals show that the status quo isn’t acceptable to many going forward, and we also have elections to remedy all that going forward, flying long haul cargo throughout the planet 1st , 2nd, and 3rd world was an eye opener as to how 80% of this planet lives, we all have to do a better job going forward, globally , about taking care of each other, and getting along, our work, and it’s daunting is cut out for us. Less hate, more love, is a start. Not talking left, or right here, just in general. We are ALL in this together.Cheers.

actually though at times I fall short this what I ascribe too, and am trying to project going forward, the old paradigms just aren’t working, and may I ask who are you ? You apparently know me, so I’m curious about who you are, pm me , or skulk in the shadows, I’m curious. Goody goody, is not how I would describe myself, but what I put out there is the direction I really think we need to go. Cheers.
