You’ve obviously not stayed in a Howard Johnson Express like the one in ICT, or the HGI in MSY. Only Garden Inn I’ve ever seen in such ill repair.🤮

The hotel isn't great, but the Hofbrauhaus next door can be quite fun. That is how me and my crew consoled ourselves the last time I got stuck there. Hotel quality needs to be taken care of by the entire group getting together to first rate the bad places and to actually fatigue when adequate rest was not achieved. If the group makes it felt, then we can get some changes.

Way back when I was on the Travel Commitee, we used that LAS Hyatt Place when it was brand new. It lasted about 15 days and we pulled the plug due to terrible noise when LAS is departing the 01’s. We told them don’t ever go back there! I guess enough time has passed and people have moved on that the memory of that place is gone. The hotels at NJA were always fairly good IMO and we worked hard to keep it that way back in the day. It’s unfortunate that appears to be changing from what you guys are saying.

I may be the only one, but I’m glad hotel quality is decreasing at the same time as fatigue mitigation has gone away.
When I’m fatigued at check in and they put us back in the same dump, what are the odds I won’t be fatigued tomorrow at check in? Finally QOL on the road. I’ve only been waiting 25 years. Just in time for mandatory retirement!

I just hope we can get the youngsters a good contract before us old farts are shown the door. I tell all new hires I get paired up with (poor them) to remember that we’re “the help” but we don’t need to accept being treated like the help.
