The reason the commany reversed the 60/40 split and now have 60% of the 7/7 lines on a weekend start is they were hoping it would force more pilots to the 8/6. If a crewmember wanted a Wednesday start, they may not get it on 7/7 but would on 8/6. Some did this and some didn't.

Appreciate the previous answers on 7/7 start dates.
Can anyone lay out what a typical Crew Choice month might look like, let’s say on the CC60?
Also is it possible for new hire FOs to get 5 day tours on Crew Choice schedule relatively quickly or is that super senior?
My plan would be to choose a high traffic base that is eligible for 5 day tours.

I’ve been doing the CC short tours for the last year and I love them. The CC schedules are bid for monthly, you add your preferences to our bidding software and you get a schedule for the following month posted around the first week of the preceding month (officially it doesn’t hit until the 15th but there are ways to view it earlier). Considering upgrades are down to 15 months it doesn’t take much FO seniority to hold anything you want schedule wise, I got CC52/6 the first time I bid for it. The short tours are not popular because you’re giving the company 10-20 free hours of flight time every month that you’d otherwise get FDP for, due to the counter resetting every time you go home. I’m hopeful to get short tours quickly as a captain for that reason.
Im looking forward to my upcoming interview. Hoping I can get past the initial HR screen and get invited for in person.

Just be advised, short tours will likely lead to many thousands of dollars less in pay than working the same amount of days overall while doing 7 or 8 day tours. It is definitely better for a family to be home with shorter tours, but it is not so great for the pay. There is a reason the short tours are likely available to junior pilots.

CC question
To follow up on the previous question about the Crew Choice schedule- what does that actually mean? For the CC60 for example, does that mean you select the days that you're available to work out of the 4 month period? Have been trying to figure out if this could be a good fit with my spouses schedule, kids and side career being able to bid ahead of time and have known dates in advance, or how this really works. Thanks for any clarification of what the CC actually means in practice.
