Default PSA For Potential New Hires

$70,781 is what you can count on in base pay on the 7/7 schedule for the first year. This is about 30% less than most regionals and you're doing twice the amount of work.

$82,106 8/6 schedule

$86,353 cc72 schedule (18 days/month)

$92,015 cc76 schedule (19 days/month)

$120,000 is a number you will hear if you go to an expo. The difference between 120K and the previous four figures I posted are what we refer to as soft money. You have very little control over your soft money earning potential. Depending upon which schedule you elect, soft money can comprise 35% of your check.

If you're assigned the Latitude or 350, $120K is within reach. The Sovereign and XLS pilots probably can count on $90 - $100K.

The Phenom has it's own set of challenges. You can have an 8-9 leg day and never leave Florida or California and log 5 hours of flight time.

Any additions or corrections are welcome.

Have people taken the job not understood what you've highlighted?

Who is saying 120K at job fairs? Aircrew or hiring folks?

Question #1: Yes. The soft money part of our pay equation.

Question #2: Both up until about March according to probationary pilots I've spoken to. Early Spring appears to be when union pilots at the expos backed off of echoing the same earnings projections as the company.

I left out the cc52 based on the age demographic that I thought that schedule would appeal to. A demographic the company hasn't been interested in as of late. However, that could change now with the age 70 legislation. The success rate of someone going from a 777 CA or 737 CA to a Phenom FO or XLS FO would be interesting.

Well this coming payday closes out my first year flying at NJ. The following is from 1Jan 2022 to 31 Dec 2022.

I waited for IOE for 6 weeks after finishing the 350 initial in December of 2021. I have been 7/7 schedule since finishing a week of IOE. I did not fly the month of January waiting on IOE, I did not fly July because of COVID and recurrent, I did not fly for 5 weeks in October-November due to vacation and having Gall bladder removed. I have done 4 extended days in the past year, one after midnight. So after all that my gross pay for 2022 will be $143,500 plus or minus $300. I have been fortunate on FDP, my worst tour was 17.4 hrs, my second worst 25 hours. Average tour is 28.5 hours.

Phenom FO here, been with the company just over a year, and other than IOE in January, I have been on the 7&7 schedule all year. No extended days (extra pay), and missed about a month of flying over the year between COVID and sickness (btw, kids are germ factories). Gross pay at the end of this year should be just over $120,000. Out of that, approximately $14,000 went directly into my 401k as part of my FDP pay from the company, and I also contributed 6% into my 401k, for about $6,000.

I have been fortunate in that I have done very few short hops in the northeast or Florida, but seem to routinely end up with longer hops around the country. I realize that doesn’t happen for everyone however, and FDP pay has gone up and down depending on demand, maintenance, and my health. Hope this pay snapshot is useful to others.

Just out of curiosity are you including 401k and per diem in that?

Most recent Phenom Captain bid went to an April 2015 hire. Talk of 400 upgrades in 2023, which should potentially reach all pre-COVID hires, and grab a few 2021 hires, but predictions are very difficult at this point.
