Default Age 70 rule

Might someone please clarify the current policy about this? Will they not even consider an applicant nearing this age or will they just force you out at that time?
Could this be considered possible age discrimnation?
Thanks

It was passed by Congress and signed into law. Operators over a certain number of flight operations have the option to impose an age 70 retirement. NetJets chose to implement this and I'm sure they have done it in such a way to preclude age discrimination lawsuits. With an age 65 (maybe soon to be 67) for Part 121 airlines I don't see lawsuits having much of a chance. FlexJet is large enough to be under this rule but they've not implemented it AFAIK.

I doubt they'll hire anyone more than 67-68 because of the time it takes to train. It depends on how hard of a time they're having getting pilots.
