ERJF15, I came from Eagle and am now fortunate enough to be at NetJets. I'll try to give you a little more info when I get to the hotel tonight.....provided I don't get reassigned 6 times today like I did at Eagle

Cool your jets amaineiac, there was no dissing happening here. I was trying to relay that there really is no schedule. Even when you have one, nothing is really set in stone until your flight is completed. This is the part that I actually enjoy! It's a 7 day adventure.

Default Typical sched cont

Sorry it took so long... I forgot.

the rest of day 2 was fly three pax to HPN and go to the hotel. Lunch was good - grilled steak and chicken and a steak kabob (I had the kabob first). Jet went to MX @ HPN and so we got a show at the hotel at 1200 for hotel reserve brief.

Day 3: Got up the next morning, breakfast compliments of the Crown Plaza, brief update revealed a limo to TEB for a flight to HXD, leaving the hotel at noon. Left TEB and got to hilton Head at about 5:00 and got shut down. Then off to the hotel, a Crown Plaza with no free breakfast - what a jip. Next days brief was ferry to PNE then HTO show at noon.

Day 4: Got up, worked out, brief changed to ferry to CLT, pax to LEX. Had to eat my breakfast from the company at the FBO. While waiting at CLT, got an additional leg, ferry to TYS. Flew to LEX then TYS. Got shut down about 6 pm with a pax to CHS then sit for 6 hours and pax to SDF. Continental bkfast at the marriot is free, but the hot breakfast is 4.00 - do I pay or order free from the company. Decidsions, decisions - I think I will order.

I'll try to remember to update tomorrow.

Day 5: TYS to CHS, 6 hours on the ground, then CHS to SDF, both legs with pax. Got shut down in SDF with an 8:00 hotel show. Hotel was the Hilton downtown, very nice.

Day 6: Sit on ass. Shut down at 6 pm with... 2 legs. A little frustrating to sit all day on day 6, then get 2 legs on the last day. Oh well, looks like ferry to an un-named field in AL, then MSY. Airline home with an arrival time of 7:30, unless I can standby on an earlier flight.

thanks a lot for finishing that up faipsrule. that's a great description of the day-to-day, and one that i could see myself liking a lot!

looks like most of your flying was pretty regional - just bouncing back and fourth across the southeast. is that pretty typical? would west coast guys fly primarily the west coast, east coast guys the east, etc? or is it just luck of the draw and/or the aircraft type?

Yep, pretty much luck of the draw. Aircraft type does have something to do with it as well, but the only thing you can predict with a reliable level of certainty at this place is that nothing is predictable.

Do they make you carry national jepps around, or do you maintain an aircraft library?

We maintain an aircraft library. Pick up updates out of our lockers. US stuff, plus Latin America, Canada/Alaska and AF/D, FAR/AIM. The bigger planes keep South America and Hawaii also.

I've always wondered how that worked since they don't know where the airplanes are going to be in time to ship updates ahead of time. What are these lockers?

The lockers are conveniently located at the most frequented airports that we serve such as HPN, TEB, PBI, IAD, SFO and so on so forth. I am estimating we have nearly 50 locker locations spread throughout the country although less than half of them have Jepp updates. However, it's never very long before your aircraft ends up in the Northeast or the Southeast where you can grab what you need. Worse comes to worse, they will sometime FedEx you missing updates or simply fax you the most current plates, but that rarely needs to occur.

The lockers also have cups, pop, snack food, wine & beer, etc. that we carry as our normal stock on the plane for the owners. They also get catering if they want it. We pick up coffee, ice and papers from the FBO. Depending on the FBO, the lockers can be large rooms to 4 cabinets.
