I have literally no clue where he is getting his info, but he is wrong on all accounts. There is a new hire class right now and most, if not all wll not go to the 300. You will not get fired if you "fit out" of the 300, they just may need to wait to get you into another fleet type. As for the 300, plenty of people are bidding into it. The airplane doesn't just so short hops, I frequently do transcons in it. Lots of people want to spit out glass half empty BS because they are bitter. Some can look at things objectively, some cannot, but Supers description of things is incorrect. Another thing to consider on the 300 is seniority benefits. All the other fleets are super senior and are not expanding with new airframes, so if you go onto something like the Citation X, you will be super junior for years, only to get displaced into something like the Phenom later on anyway. A new hire coming into the phenom at least has hopes of padding junior guys behind him/her so you can bid better lines on scheduling, and get vacation bids.

Why not? They hired a guy without an ATP recently and didn't discover that until training.

I was told all hiring was for the 300. But you have to factor Sim times and whats available, guys bidding out and people leaving opens spots. That's why you have holes in the other fleets for new hires to fill. No buddy wants the 300, it doesn't go very far so you go up and down all day and do a lot of work for nothing. It's not a good aircraft for what NJA does day to day. It's not a Citation and that's the A/C to use. The SII made the company! Guys have bid the 300 only to get in the Sim and not fit! Out you go! It's a fact if you're a new hire big guy and can't fit into the 300 you aren't going to get a class date. Limited growth and 10 plus year upgrade means you are nothing more than furlough bait @ NJA! If you're a new hire take the job and keep looking for better! Plan on getting out before the Music stops and it will stop. Just like in 08/09. Everyone is waiting for the next hick up.

That doesn't sound very appealing, but then again, no one at NJA is doing exactly what you describe. Those topping the FO pay scale on the 18-day schedule are making six figures., of which zero dollars are subtracted for health care premiums or commuting costs. If your ego is such that you need to be in a big airplane to feel better, then this isn't the place to make that happen.

Duty Time/Rest
I apologize ahead of time if this was already covered but I can't find it anywhere.
When you are out flying around on your rotation with NJA, Do you have an assigned rest time every day? Or does the company start your rest when you end your last leg of the day, let you get 10 hours of rest, and make you wonder when you're getting the call to start your Duty again? Do they make you float or is it all scheduled? I worked for companies that have done it both ways.
Thanks
