Mostly I think for me is they pay. How is a new hire FO junior to me going to the Saab and making more per hour than me and my colleagues when we all bid into the Saab and still didn't get it. I know the union is doing something to equalize the pay for 1900 guys that weren't shifted over. Not to mention 1900 flying is already been cut in half for next month in FLL.

So there definitely will be some upset peeps like myself on that. I think number 125 was the last senior pilot to get the Saab. Then all of a sudden 189 or so gets it skipping the line.

I don't know what other airline guys think of that or how that was handled at your airlines

It's pretty simple. When there's a vacancy for a seat in any base, it goes to the most senior person who bids it (in this case, you over brand new guy).

Probably also makes sense that a lot of new hires are Colgan pilots already typed on the Saab (from what I've heard). They did this to save money and I cant say that I blame them. However, from the contract:
A Pilot will be pay protected when a junior Pilot is advanced to his new Status (Base, Equipment Type and Seat Position) before a more senior Pilot is advanced to the same Status. This pay protection will be at 100% of line value that the Pilot would have held in that new Status. If a Pilot declines training in seniority, he will forfeit eligibility for pay protection.
If thats the case, the entire pilot group should be making Saab pay.

Awwww you guys are growing up so fast!! Just a couple weeks ago everyone in here was spouting off about how great and generous the new Silver is and that yall's management team is nothing like the others. Now look at you, coming to the realization that management will do anything to save a buck.

Well I was actually hoping to get the 1900 when I come in. I am not typed in the Saab, so maybe I will get my wish. Would prefer not to step on any senior guys too if given the choice.

Well just hope they're expeditious in that. Especially since they have not made any official mention about pay rates. I know our IOE captains who were told to delay training into the saab are being paid saab Capt pay for the delay.

If I'm going to get Saab pay while I'm flying the 1900 that's even better coupled with the CRP.
