It seems that Silver is having no problem attracting pilots...at least right now. Lots of Colgan pilots were at the job fair. Lots of pilots are out of work, or their jobs are threatened.

Does anyone know when the next job fair is that silver will be attending?

They didn't attend an industry job fair. It was more of a meet and greet/Kind of a group info and interview session that was invite only. Those people they couldn't interview right then got set up for interviews through the month of June. So, they are prob pretty much done calling in new people for interviews until they get through June and that list... They seemed pretty busy with trying to interview, get through background checks and oh yeah....flying airplanes all at the same time. That's why I was so impressed with the way they treated everyone. Usually with a company that's trying to pull in large numbers they start treating it as a cattle call instead of getting to know each person. It was more like they where looking for any reason they shouldn't let you in instead of you having to prove why your worthy of the job(within reason- there was a written and sim ride)... If you haven't noticed there are quite a few noses that are held high in this industry. I just didn't see it at Silver... Refreshing....

Does any one know if 1000 TT is the hard deck at silver or are they still taking in people with less hours.

The min times will go up as the year goes on. You have to be able to hit 1500 hours by next August taking in to account that you have six weeks of ground, 10 days of Sim, IOE then a month of reserve after you get to your base... The days of the 500 hour FO are officially over...

Bridgeport, WV.

No big deal. 2.5 hours on the SAAB.

Probably only a once or twice a week flight.

Ah sorry my mistake. I know they are trying to connect all of these EAS bases down the east coast to Gainesville for maintenance purposes.
