Slapping a United code on that flight, there is a difference between code share and outsourcing to a regional!!!

We've seen how well that works for other regionals.

wouldn't this be a more respectable business model from a pilot perspective?
I'd say yes, in ways. But the risk is pretty high, doing it on a new fleet type we've never flown. Hopefully with a CEO and chief pilot who've both dealt with Saab's, this won't turn into a scene that resembles Thomas the tank engine falling off the tracks...

I just checked their jobs page. They now want 1000 hours for FO?? A few weeks ago it was 250.

The thinking is that all FOs will need an ATP by AUG 2013, which means a minimum of 1500 TT by then. If they hired pilots now, with less than 1000TT, they would not have 1500TT by next Aug.

How is a place like silver going to attract pilots with over 1000 hours?

It's one of two airlines right now that I can think of that upgrade is in the foreseeable future.

It seems that Silver is having no problem attracting pilots...at least right now. Lots of Colgan pilots were at the job fair. Lots of pilots are out of work, or their jobs are threatened.
