I feel bad for the crew involved. Hope there's something to be learned from this. Not the first time, wont be the last. Like everyone else, I too would like to know what happened, and how they are going to get that plane out of there...

Empty airplane. Two pilots. Minimum fuel. Definitely. Whether it would have the FAA required accelerate/stop or accelerate/go distance with an engine failure is questionable.

... but 3200' seems like something that should have looked a little tight on final? But who am I to question a fellow professional? Be interested to see what comes of it.

Was the tower open? We're supposed to know where you are (or aren't) when we clear you to land. Just like the MacDill/O'Knight incident.
