I think part of the deal with TUP is that it is an intermediate stop on the way to ATL. In 5 months, I've only diverted twice (both times due to low ceilings in TUP). Rest of the time, I've managed to find the airport via NDB

I am sorry that happened to you unfortunately you fell victim to the unorganized mess that is FLL. No excuse for the agent to do that but I bet you he was trying to board three flights at the same time and didn't want a delay on him. Same thing happened last week we were about to leave three including a company captain with seats open. Luckily the captain called us and we waited and took everyone. Next time grab a pilot on the way downstairs and we will gladly try to let the crew know since all the planes are parked near the same gates.

I don't think they have full candidates for a class yet, half of the peeps interviewing are disqualified after failing the written since now they want 80%. Lots of older dudes furloughees. Many find out its not for FLL and say no thank you.
Also hear BFD is loosing its EAS? Anyone have info on that?

As far as the EAS stuff, there have been rumors running around for months about some of the stations losing their EAS funding because the loads are down. But from what I understand, the contract is still good for at least a year yet. I'll do some checking into it.

That test was pathetic!! Who cares how often you have to check a friggen VOR!! Do you think the 757 captain at Delta does a VOR check?!? What a joke.

You missed my point. I am well aware of the regulatory requirements. But I highly doubt that the pilots at most airlines do a VOR every day or do engine runups. That should be a maintenance function.

No you are missing the point, not all aircraft require an engine run-up!
