Not that it matters, and I may be completely wrong here but, perhaps you're thinking of the prop brake option? I don't think theres an available APU for the Saab, due to the location of the outflow valves, but there is a prop brake you can install on No. 2, allowing you to run the engine as an APU without the propellor spinning (similar to Hotel mode on ATRs). I hear they are quite cheap, easy to install, and light, but they require careful use because they wear down and become useless very easily... Still would be nice to have when IAD parks us at the only 2 gates that don't have a working PCA unit.

Correct, it is a prop brake.

The only Saab I know of with an APU is N541BC at IBC. I believe it has an executive configuration so I doubt that the weight of an APU would cause them much trouble unlike our 34 seat configuration. Now a prop brake would be nice but I too heard that they have issues with wearing out. Probably not economical.

Ok...well let's go all executive config!

Problem solved! Haha

I say we just buy tons of those PC air carts and call it a day.

So Miami never opened, Puerto Rico flying went away, and now Billings is closing. I sure do hope Silver is looking at expanding to some other markets ( aside from some other Fort Myers - Key West Route ) because right now it just seems like they are shriveling up!

Gotta remember that Silver added the ATL and IAD networks this past year, and recently added MCN-ATL and MCO. So if 3M is not committed to expanding the Billings market, then its time to GTFO and look for strategies elsewhere. JMHO!
