According to flightaware all silver a/c in iad landed in the right places... in dulles today... also no saab flights to leesburg in the last few days. Did you see this airplane yourself? Did it have a silver paint job? Are you sure it wasn't Manassas?

What's with all the Cape Air blasts about them? Is this some kind of hint to what's in store for Silver?

Cape Air is part of APA Local 1224 and the ExCo from Cape Air has asked our ExCo to pass along information about the hiring going on at Cape Air. It's merely a transfer of information to anyone who is interested in employment at Cape Air.

Sorry for the huge delay, the tech guys at Union HQ get a lot of spambots trying to create fake accounts. They're working hard to sort through the requests for access.

Thanks, man, I'm doing the best I can!

Serious question do you think someone will buy silver just for the pilots? Like Great Lakes buys us just to have pilots?

In this industry, I wouldn't rule anything out completely. But I doubt anyone would buy an airline just to bolster their number of pilots. Buying an airline means buying their problems. Better just to wait for the weak ones (e.g. Great Lakes) to fall apart and pick up their pilots at Year 1 seniority.

If you missed today's Union conference call, you can find the minutes posted under the ExCo sub-forum on the APA 1224 Forum.

I don't think that is plausible. If they buy you, then they have to merge the companies seniority lists. Unless that's what you mean, merge the lists and then just not fly the silver the airplanes. They would still be on the hook for the aircraft leases and whatnot.

Remember way back (maybe you don't) when American purchased the "assets" of TWA? They didn't buy the company, the company folded and employees were on the streets. Many TWA pilots were hired at American, but I believe they went to the back of the bus. At the time, TWA actually owned assets (airplanes). Today, nobody owns airplanes, they are all leased.

In fact, I'm not sure that any airline out there really owns anything at all.

It would be nice to be able to read them. However, that takes forum approval... and that takes forever and a day to get done. Again, if you are going to promote the forum, you better have your act together. Kind of like hiring a bunch of pilots... if you don't have the support staff (dispatchers, schedulers, etc.), it just doesn't work.

In the meantime, what can be done to help keep our pilot group informed? With (as in the above post) it taking as much as 9 months to approve access to the forums, there is a huge void that needs to be filled NOW with the communication and dissemination of critical information.

Have you heard on an airline based in Florida with fuschia engines? Apparently they pay for their planes outright with their food stamps :D.
