With the way the CBA lays out Staffing Bid procedure, this will most likely result in the downgrading of many junior CAs in favor of senior FOs getting upgrades. Don't count on using displacement rights to hold your seat, they are only as good as your seniority. I wouldn't doubt that many DECs will likely quit rather than accept demotion. This could get messy. I had a feeling a few months back when they did the SB in July that the reason they were waiting to move people was that this one was coming. No point in paying moving expenses when they were just going to do a major reshuffle a few months down the road.

You seem to forget they have 12 months to implement the staffing bid. I don't think any DEC's will actually see the right seat, possible but doubt it. I believe DP is pretty smart and will keep his DEC's and award some upgrades to give hope and fill a few CA slots. Then when Silver starts growing again they will upgrade as appropriate and the seniority list will work itself out over the next 12 months or so.

Yea you can get fired for that kind of sh!t around here... But I do agree with the man... Everything north of GNV will become like a normal airline over the next 8-12 months. FL will always be full of lifers. But, all the junior DECs are already starting to bail, and will create CA vacancies for the middle level FOs to upgrade. The white elephant in the room-- you can't become a captain if you have no one to be your FO.

Who knows jsfBoat. You're going to have to really write everything down and do the good ole' Pro's and Con's list. Make your decision and don't look back. Silver upgrade is a gamble, who knows if DEC's are going to leave soon, that depends on a lot of factors, but one thing is for sure, other than the FL lifers I haven't met one DEC that wants to stay here. This place SUCKS! Ask yourself if you're happy now. Are you close to upgrade? Are you willing to stay here and deal with the bs?
