Y'all, remember to vote in the Steward election (last day to vote is 04DEC). The six elected Stewards will be your representatives for the next three years. Take some time to read the Campaign Material sent out by the Local and ask questions on the Union forum. Once that's done, go vote! One vote makes a difference in a pilot group this small.

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving weekend!

Thanks for the update... I think it's hilarious that they're now just realizing he's not doing a good job. I wonder what the numbers are of people fired by him and or left because of his BS. Now it's even more laughable that they want to make him head of training... This is a guy who walked into a recurrent blasting his mouth about how he thinks every pilot should be still paying for their training. Considering how terrible he did when he re-qualed in the Saab makes this even more a joke. Apparently AT and him have become quite good friends and share the same opinion that Saab training should go back to the ways of GIA 1900 days ie nuts and bolts on a wing.

When EK is demoted, I think that Lily will most definitely, freak out & his other "lackey" will go somewhere else.

It's very sad to see that the "heads" of the company know nothing but Gulfstream ways. It's about time they see how other airlines do it and learn from them.

On another note, I heard GLA is down to only 5 f/os in the entire company. Can 3M be next?

Wow that is a crazy number... but if you were an FO there(without 5 DUIs), you could literally go to any other regional and double your pay straight away, wouldn't you!?!

I think the inherent problem with Silver is the same that's going to shut down Lakes, the fact that we rely a lot on EAS subsidies (although not as much as Lakes). We are paid based on a fix cost that we bid for. Perhaps if companies like Silver and Lakes did some planning, they would've seen the problem they're in now and built higher wAges into their cost for the bid... Lucky for us, we have this place called "Florida" where we can control our ticket fares, but I think they'd see raising prices as a last option. Rumor has it there's been some potential buyers/investors snooping around OCC lately, I hope it's someone with deep pockets, because I think at this point VPAA is done dishing money into this place.

The bid Silver put in was substantially higher than all others.

One of the competitors was a bus company... All the bids SKW won over GLA were high, because they cost more (larger aircraft and pay twice as much) yet they still win because they have a reliable product and fly to more desirable hubs. My point is, to answer the original question a few posts earlier, yes. Silver might be next. Or at least become a Florida-only airline.
