Awesome! I just put my app, see what happens. Think QOL and the convenience of driving to work beats making 6 more bucks an hour. Especially when you end up spending money on hotel nights and missing the commute to work and in turn missing the pay of an entire trip.

Thank you for the info!

Hey guys,

I know this has probably been answered before, but I went back about 75 pages and couldn't find it. Other than Frontier, where is people going after Silver?
I'm currently working for another regional and I am sick of commuting. I missed my commute to work once due to weather, since it was a 4 day high credit trip, including per diem cost me about $1k. Not to mention how many times I haven't been able to come home after a long trip.

I'm nowhere close to upgrade where I'm at, so I've been considering a lateral move, and living in Orlando, Silver is pretty much the one. Any advice about this?

Quality of life here is awesome. I've been here for about 2 years and 3 months and so far I haven't regret my decision to work for silver. Pilot group is awesome specially MCO base. I quit RAH in training 2015 and decided to give a chance to silver and so far it was the best decision. People from here jumped to all the majors, Jetblue, Southwest, Spirit, Frontier, ABX etc. We are growing receiving new airplanes this year, also with the acquisition of seaborne means another base soon. I came here with 0 121 time and I did my upgrade in 15 months. Prior 121 guys could upgrade in 6 months or less. With the ATR coming into property probably upgrade in the saab for prior 121 will be a lot faster.

How are the trips out of FLL? I don't have any 121 time, but the thought of day trips home ever night sounds awesome.

FLL is a combination of day trips with few overnights as well. We have day trips, 2 days, 3 days and 4 days trips. Most of the overnights are for MCO base which are the base with the majority of the commuters.

No. Can't bring your own night goggles, either.

MCO Life

Hello! Tracking the general "4 on, 2 or 3 off" flow for the month.

Wondering what the day-to-day looks like, specifically in MCO.

Understand MCO has more multi-day trips than TPA or FLL...not to worried what that looks like...because when you're gone...you're gone.

When sitting reserve in MCO, when does your availability typically start/end? A buddy at SWA says that they have an "early" and a "late" window, so he knows when he's no longer going to be called on a given day.

For day trips: when does the day usually start and end? Same buddy tells me that his day trips either start early or late, and he's back at a predictable time. Clearly weather is a factor impacting predictability, but generally...how does it look?

Insight appreciated!
