Commutair Bases / Commuting
FYI, in the Aug class they put everyone in CLE. Only 4 people though. Supposedly we have a class of 8 and 12 coming up.

How much can you expect your paycheck to be during your first year at Commutair?

Much Less than you'd like it to be. we have a 76 hour monthly Guarantee and you can find our year one FO pay rate rather easily with an internet search, do that math from there, subtract taxes, health care etc.

Expect about $800-$1000 every two weeks. That includes per-diem.

First year FO pay for me resulted in about 23k for the year. Second year is looking like it won't be much more. As was mentioned, the current pay scale is on the airline profile here at APC.

Thanks guys for answering my question.

On average, how many hours do you fly per month? How many legs on a single day?

I'm planning on applying to CommutAir and I'm trying to do my homework.

I'm starting my second month on reserve so I'm probably the wrong person to ask, but I believe our "bid window" is currently 85-95 hours a month, meaning once you have a line that's how many hours you'll be flying monthly.

And we're contractually limited to 6 legs a day.

Mostly correct. The 85-95 hour bid window is the system for line holders--I have to bid 85 hours in as few days as possible to maximize my own time off (as a commuter) but have been sitting at 12 and 13 days off per month (12 being minimum for line holders) as a decently senior FO in my base. While we have to bid that much time for a month, usually you'll fly closer to 70-75 hours because of all the variables associated with flying. Average legs per day is probably four or five although as TallFlyer mentioned six is the limit. No limit for how few, though... plenty of our trips have single and two leg days that make that 85 bid window frustrating to reach.

Real Talk.

So even though the guarantee is 76 hours, you are required to bid for 85?

Could someone bid for a 6-1-6-1-6-10 type schedule and then next month bid like 10-6-1-6-1-6? Or at least something similar and end up with a couple of weeks off.
