Hello everyone,


A question that's regularly asked around here is whether X or Y company requires a training contract. I'd say, let's grab this rope from the other end and mention companies that do NOT require a training contract.

I believe pilot retention methods should be decent working conditions and adequate pay especially when the job market is finally becoming somewhat favorable after years if not decades of stagnation to say the least.



If this thread is popular, it could even be "sticky-ed" in this subforum.


You can post in a format like :


1. Company
2. fleet
3. Hours requirement as posted on their website or the stats you or a friend had when you/he/she joined
4. Salary for the position

Let's all promote positive companies that dont rely on handcuffs !


As a side note, I'm aware there will always be THAT guy who gets a TR and leaves. Don't forget networking is key in this business and it's a very small world. You might need a job in a few years when the economy tanks...

Wiggins Airways, FedEx and UPS Cargo carrier in NH, does not require a Training Contract.

 

Most part 135 operators require at least a 12 month contract. I know JetSuite and JetSuite X did away with theirs.

Nicholas Air requires 3 contracts. Initial and 2 recurrents

 

Alpine Air Express doesn’t have one for the Beech 99 either. Company posted about it last month in their thread. Hiring at less than 135 IFR mins. Pay you to sit right seat to build some exp too.

 

They hire into the 1900 or the 99 for the right seat? What are'rethe mins they're requiring? 250-500 or higher?

 

I don’t think Ameriflight requires a contract, at least for their EMB first officer program.

 

Only for NON-EMB FOs. And that is just because we are basically paying them to get their hours up to where they can become captains.

 

Ameriflight
No training contracts for required crew programs, ie. regular First Officers and Captains.
The only training contract is for the Accelerated Captain Program where you take a non-required position (paid) so that you can build your hours up and become a Captain quickly.

Regular First Officer (EMB120): 500 TT, 25 ME, 100 XC (defined as point to point), 25 night, 350 PIC, 75 instrument
ACP First Officer (BE99 or BE1900): 750 TT, 25 ME, 300 XC (defined as point to point), 100 night, 500 PIC, 75 instrument
Direct-Entry Captain (BE99 at lowest): 1,200 TT, 50 ME, 500 XC (defined as point to point), 100 night, 500 PIC, 75 instrument

 

- Westwind Air Service (scenic tour ops in AZ, charters, a little cargo contracted with Ameriflight, and Burning Man)
- 1 Cessna T206, 3 Cessna T207, 6 Cessna 208B
- 500 hours total, 100 XC, 25 Night
- Start: $30,000, Qualified in T207/208B: $32,000, Instructor pilot +$2,000, Check Airman +$5000
