Default Single Pilot jobs

I currently fly a survey company and I am building hours towards the minimum for part 135. I have gotten use to and prefer solo flying. What are some gigs that you can make decent living. I’m a career changer from trucker to Pilot, so my expectation would be pay at least 60k.

Look at Empire, Mountain Air Cargo, Baron... to name a few. They operate C-208s. You got the time... they’ve got the jog for you.

If you're still building to 135 captain mins, AMF does hire into the right seat to get you there. Though you aren't going to get to the 60K range for a couple of years. I'd say that is true for any beginning flight job.

PG&E in California. A couple of C-206s with survey gear and TKS, and a C-208.

Medevac is the closest to a "career job" you're going to get and remain single pilot. Salaries beat your 60k number by a substantial amount, and qol ranges from "acceptable" to "amazing". If I weren't such a money *****, I'd be doing it.

Pretty much any UPS or Fedex feeder job is what your looking for. Most of those companies are looking for pilots. What part of the country do you live? That will determine what companies you want to look into. The good news is that with the shortage of pilots wanting those jobs pay should be in the 70K to 80K range for a metro or beach 1900.

However with low hours and no turbine experience, you would probably have to be hired into a twin piston in the 40K to 50K range. Depending on the company it would be 6 months to 1 year to upgrade into the turbines.
