Contract?

I wanted to know if contour has a training contract and if so how long is it and how much is it for?

someone posted this on Reddit recently. Step 1: Fly for Contour as a FO.

Step 2: Upgrade to Captain at ATP mins ($20K bonus)

Step 3: Fly 1000 hours as a Captain at Contour

Step 4: DEC into Skywest with 2 years of seniority ($20K Bonus)

Step 5: Fly 1600 hours PIC to United.

Penalties for leaving

$40K for leaving contour before Captain Upgrade $60K for leaving after Contour upgrade but before Skywest $75K for leaving Skywest

pay is apparently about $40k/year, and you’re flying min rest with ~6 legs/day.

Training Contract

Before it was a one year prorated training contract... Now they have a very complicated "program" which resembles inditured servitude that would realistically bind the pilot for 7 years best my calculations... Qualification on my opinion is I have not read the documents and I am basing my opinion on brief overview by management... New comers please READ the joining contract prior to signing... Best of luck...

Cheers

Apparently, just one more.

You should get that one.

That is so funny. I lol'd for real.

Just wondering what times people actually get called in to interview with. Approaching 900 tt but nothing. With the dropping of minimums I figured they must be getting desperate but…

Got a “Thanks but no Thanks”

Whatever

Personally, I think that your low time carriers are making a comeback. I can remember a few years back ( ie 2005+), I remember companies such as Gulfstream, ExpressJet, Chautauqua, Colgan, ASA...just to name a few that were hiring FO's with as little as 500 TT; 100 ME ; 50 hrs XC solo; and CPL with abliity to pass ATP written. The 1500 rule slowed hiring just a bit however, more & more people are are meeting and exceeding the minimums for your more established Regionals and with Majors ptting the brakes on hiring,,,you get this log jam. At any rate, I think that it'll all shake out in the end. jmo though.

There is no "1500 hour rule." There is only a requirement that pilots flying under Part 121 hold an ATP.

Airline pilots must hold an airline transport pilot certificate. Go figure.

Were they hired on the airline or the charter side?
