PHX

For those in the know:

How hard is it to get PHX as a new hire FO?

and if not, how long is the average wait times before you can "bid" for it. I understand there is no seniority system at Contour, or is there?

On the CRJ side they normally won't hire less than 1000 TTL because a number of the Charter Contracts have crew qual requirements... If you have the listed mins apply... Only cost is your time... Go to the Careers page on company website, create a login id and apply online... On the profile page on this site there is a link to the Careers page for easy access... Good luck...

I meet the minimums except I have 25 Multi instead of 50. Would they offer a CJO if I am able to accumulate the remaining 25. I know a guy..who's a CFI with a ME I can fly for time building with him for a fee. And their postings are for specific bases (e.g. ERJ FO for PHL). So if hired on that job, would that mean I'm based there?

Are they actively hiring? I know they have positions listed but….

Must be in Uniform to Jumpseat??

Morning,

just spoke with a gate agent in CLT about jumpseating. They said list ID90 for the back which makes sense, but said had to be in uniform (no business causal) to jumpseat. That threw me for a loop. Is that true?

I didn’t need to travel today, but was curious for next time I want to see family.

I’ve never known a JS policy to require being in uniform. I’ll plan accordingly, or perhaps that can be fixed if true.

Didn’t want anyone else to be caught off guard…

Hey Case

The GOM 12.10.9 states dress code for OAL JS to be uniform or business casual dress code. I am on the Charter Side so not real familiar with the ins and outs of of the JS. I do know from first hand experience that we did have one person in CLT who was not helpful with anyone. The one time I had a UAL guy out of Parkersburg they did a JS sheet at the gate and logged into CASS and good to go... I do know that we LF have to log into the myIDtravel to JS with many other OAL, so maybe that is the case... Sorry I am not more help on that issue I have not used the IDtravel or JS since I joined due to benifits from my previous carrier... The dress code I am sure about though... Best of luck...

Hey Case

Just another follow up on the Jumpseat... Was doing a rotation out of ORD last week and had a UAL jumpseater... Asked if he used the IDtravel net and he said no because LF's site fell on its arse when tried and he had to have the folks at the gate push it with paper... So the Gate or Ticket counter at the outstations should be able to get you squared away with the paper slip and logged in the system... If you come up with a not so helpful CSA sorry, try and get to the Captain for help to push the folks to do their job...

ABC

Anywhere but Contour.

Used to work there and I give them a D. My new employer is an A-.
FO pay is way below market and there is a lot of Pilot pushing. If a manufacturer test pilot has demonstrated the max crosswind limit of 30 kts then there is no excuse for you not to land. I think you should be able to land between the bands of the hurricane. Lavs are inop for days. Fuel overflow on the ramp is normal. The dash has multiple placards.
Take a job anywhere but here. If this is your only offer, hold your nose and do your year for the hours to move up.
