Hey MCT

I am not based in HPN and have never lived in New York... So my answer is based on observation and word from other crew members... HPN is a high cost area... One FO TDY to HPN can't wait to get back to Florida... If you wanted to go to the ERJ they have more bases... CRJ is only based in HPN & FLL or homebased for Captains... They have and will change bases depending on contracts...

Hours on the CRJ vary, the CRJs are mostly Charter so hours depends if the aircraft are moving during your rotation... The ERJ does scheduled EAS flying so more predictable flying, think Captains are flying as much as they want and FO's are maybe doing 80+ a month... Second hand info...

thanks for the reply jpncrjdriver.

in your experience which FO base flies the most block times? Since this is a Part 135 operation how soon can FOs be upgraded?

is there a guaranteed hour every month on the ERJ side for FOs?

Hey MCT

No idea which bases on the ERJ flys more... This outfit runs short handed so regardless of the base in the ERJ I would suspect you will fly ALL you want/ every day you are "on"...

LF pays a daily rate not by the hour... So monthly guarantee is based on 18 days... The profile here on APC is relatively accurate...

Upgrade is ATP mins and skills driven... No union, no seniority, DEC... When you meet ATP mins and they/Management feel you are ready they will offer you a upgrade... Being 135 FOs only get a SIC type, so when you upgrade they will send you back for the ATP & Full type...

Hope the info helps...

Hello,
Looking at applying for a direct Captain slot- preferably based in PHX
I do have over 3K total hours with over 700 Turbine, 2300 Multi, 2700+ PIC
Questions for those that are presently employed with Contour (or have been recently) are:
1. Are those hours competitive?
2. If not, about how long would it take to upgrade from FO to Capt?
3. Is the Phoenix base very busy or a good balance
4. Is the Vaccination Requirement the same for Charter or has that been relaxed over the last year?
5. How is training?

With that kind of time, I'd recommend either going to an LCC, or a regional.

If you want to stay 135, apply to NetJets.

Contour Airlines

Which FMS is operating in the CRJ? Is it the same in the ERJ?

Which airport does FSI use during Sim training?

Thank you.

Thank you.

CRJ-200 at CFM have the Collins 4200... Can't speak on what is in the ERJ...

FSI sim is vintage... Best visuals are for KMEM so most of the work is done using KMEM... However the training outline requires many approaches that are not available at KMEM (BC, LDA, ect) so you will do approaches and maneuvers at other airports to complete the training footprint...

Hope this helps...

No guarantee of FSI, at least on the CRJ. Contour has recently brought CAE online and their syllabus is based on KJFK.

Hi All,

Looking at jumpseating on you guys next month. Are the gate agents pretty familiar with the process and are the flights ever weigh restricted?

Thanks

Promissory Note

Does anyone know if there is a promissory note for training? I am at a different part 135 operation and I am looking to change jobs. I was wondering if Contour had any training contracts for new hires. I am not expecting to get my last 500 hours then move onto the regionals, but I want to go somewhere where I can earn a livable wage (my current company is bankrupting me). When I signed up at my current company, I had to sign a $16,000 promissory note for training that I have to pay back if I leave early. I will try to get out of it or get it reduced if need be, but if Contour pays decent and gives me multi and jet time, it is worth it for me to make the switch. Thanks.
