Talking Kalitta Charters Info.

Got an email from Kalitta Charters to schedule an interview for a Feb.4 new-hire class.
Is there any first hand information about the interview, scheduling, or commuting policy? From the info on Central it looks like an excellent alternative to the airlines.

You're going to be attached to a pager, this is from a guy I talk a lot with on a Myspace group, that just got out of Kalitta for a part 91 job. It's pretty much like most 135 jobs with the freight side.

It wouldnt hurt to try, there is no contract as far as I know, but life on the electronic leash gets old real fast. I'd imagine the upgrade is similar to some regionals.

I know that there schedule is iffy at best. They sometimes work you on your days off and not get you home when your supposed to be. This coming from a guy who used to work there. Pay is pretty good comparably and upgrade is quicker than RJ jobs. They do have the Govt. contract for the soldier remains out of Dover AFB that keeps most of the Falcons busy year round (unlike my job). It is usually feast or famine at these types of 135 jobs though.

Schedule is alot better now, 2wks on, 1wk off and they do get you home on time, cant think of a time in the past year or more where they didnt get a pilot back. Pay is alot better than at a regional, and upgrade times are running 1-2 years.

Its been at least a year or two since I last heard from someone who worked there. Glad to hear they are treating yall with respect now. BTW, keep up the good work on the soldier remain charters. I keep hearing good things about everyone involved, good job!

What kind of flight times and experience are they looking for from their FOs?

Appreciate the info. I'm in Columbus, OH with no desire to relocate. I was told there is no relocating requirement nor a commuter policy so I guess a crash pad would be needed during the 2 weeks on. As long as they do get you released on time the commuting would be all that bad!
