Sitting in a pool at an Airline. Thinking about going to Airnet but I only have 900 TT and 40 ME. What is this SIC program I am reading about? Does anyone have any info about this and Airnet; Pay, QOL, etc...

The SIC program is flying right seat in a Baron until you get your 1200 hours. You get paid to do this although not very much. You could anticipate 100 hours a month as an SIC. QOL of life is what you would expect for this type of flying. 70% of the flying is over night. You have a regular schedule working 4-5 nights a week. Most pilots have weekends off. Home everynight.

Yea, I put my stuff in today. I think it will be good and it will allow me to build up some time, gain some experience, then go back to the airlines when they are more stabe. Im in a pool at PSA and dont know if they are going to cut jobs? I guess we will find out soon.

Please don't think of Airnet as just a backup. You are flying demanding hours in demanding WX. Some people don't know what they are getting themselves into. I'm not sure if you are, but for anyone else just thinking about it to pass time remember that.

The Airlines are my #1 choice no doubt about it. But I think that Airnet would be good for me becasue it would allow me to build up the experience flying through poor weather and push myself to make decisions as a PIC. The way I feel about it is I will eventually end up as an airline pilot. But Airnet could be a way of advancing my skills and help me get through the down times at the airlines.

Default What are Air Net's Minimums?

Just curious does Airnet really have low minimums being a 135 carrier?
