Default Lucky Day For Alpine Pilot

Just heard about this from a friend- does anyone have any additional details? From the article, sounds like a pod door opened:

Billings Gazette: Cargo door opens on mail plane mid-flight

Some of the older 99's dont have the push button then turn deal, its just turn, oops.

When i was a mech there we had a 1900 air stair door come open.

As long as not pressurized shouldnt be any problems. Just slow below Va and land re-latch and blast off again.

Holy crap, I would think a pod door open would be a non event compared to that.

I like how at the end they need to add the fatal accidents that the carrier had. In the newsroom: "So an airplane door opened and no one died? Not good enough... find out if they had any other accidents and add that to the end so its more interesting."

I hate the media

I think the media was digging for a story on this one. I flew the podded 99, and, like others have said already, its not an airworthiness issue if it opened.
