Yeah. Maybe they should look at companies like Boutique. People applying like crazy, and no 2 year contract needed, better pay, better benefits, better quality of life. Same business.
So they must be doing something wrong if the only way to get pilots is through one of those contracts.

I agree, but I know some who instruct and get almost no hours all winter, so two years of Caravan may trump two+ years 172 to them. I guess it comes down to how much a person wants to avoid instructing... I instructed to 1500, but I suspect I'd have jumped on a Caravan/Pilatus gig in a heartbeat if that had been an option at the time.

If at least it's a 2 year contract, in a hell of a company where you're gonna learn a lot, become a better pilot, and enjoy the raid (including semi-decent pay) then it wouldn't be that horrible. But if someone can mess with your PRIA.....no way.
I respect SO much flight instruction, honestly....but it ain't for me. I'm 6'1'' and 280lbs, and I'm not ashamed to say I can get dizzy easily. So it's a no go for me. A student deserves a CFI that will get involved 100% in his learning process, and I'd be doing that 50% of the time and the other 50% opening the window to get some fresh air and chewing ginger gum haha.

If you are still looking for info on them you can PM me as well. I can give the pluses and minuses. It wasn't as bad as people say it was...especially from those who did not fly there and go off the opinions of a few disgruntled pilots who left.

So much this. the contract is 2 years if you're really low time. Rumors are that it can be 18 months if you're hired with around 500 hours or so. The schedules are good, and your bids will improve quickly because the regionals are sucking up all the pilots. It doesn't matter who you work for at this point if your goal is to go to the regionals afterward. It;s a great learning experience as to how an airline works. I have much respect for CFI's but if you want to really learn about how to handle weather, and operations before hitting a 121, Then AC1 is as good as any. I mean it's going to take you about 1.5-2 years to hit 1500 hours unless you're flying 100 hours a month anyways.
