Who in your mind is pulling off this model successfully? Although these are all businesses with slightly different stripes, they're still zebras. Jury is still out on Surf. Blackjet gone. Beacon Air gone. Wheels Up...
...is continuing to expand, just ordered 30+ more airplanes.

The big difference with wheels up is that they still charge an hourly fee.

There's an initiation fee of $17,500 then a $8,500 annual fee, & then it still costs like $5,000/Hr. Also according to a buddy of mine that works there, if the customer wants WiFi they charge another $1,000 - $1500/HR.

Now all of that being said, it's a different kind of rich, like JJ Watt / Johnny Depp kind of rich.

Not true. Wheels UP does not charge for wifi. All their aircraft, both 350i's and XLS, come from the factory with wifi installed. After membership, hourly rates are $3950 for the 350i and $6950 for the XLS.

Thanks for that, the hourly rates were the only thing I couldn't find on the website in 2 minutes of looking, haha. As for the Wifi, I was just going off of what my friend said.

But either way, thinking about the costs of flying, it's surprising that more people don't realize what a fantastic deal Surf Air is.

The 350 is in another league, i agree and the aquisition and maintenance coste reflect that. The B200 is the same seating capacity, 30kts faster but 40%more fuel. And twice the maintenance costs roughly. The pc-12 is the plane that makes the model work. And wheels up is another animal. Not for the extremely rich but for the very wealthy. Surf Air is for a new breed of business commuter primarily being lifted up out of commercial flying. Differnt niche. These markets are out there. Im not saying it is a goldmine, and it may never be a huge moneymaker but people do love and appreciate the service and have been dropping 2k a month for several years.

Im not sure what happened here...went from an informative thread to what seems like whining and complaining (certain people).

I think this company sounds great to work for...If you dont, then move on. If you don't like/agree with their business model...move on. If you think you can do it better, then move on and "TRY" to do it better. Simple as that. We dont need to/want to hear why you think it "doesnt" work...we do not really care.

I hope I never end up salty and jaded like some on these forums. Negative people....simply move on. End Rant! Am i out of line...

If everyone was ok with the status quo, nothing would ever get changed for the better in this industry. SurfAir sounds like a pretty good company all things considered. Doesn't mean everything is perfect...
