Default Air Ambulance in New York/ New England?

Hello folks,
I'm just curious, are there any Air Ambulance operators in the New York/ New England area? I've seen a lot in the more rural areas such as the Midwest which makes perfect sense, I would reckon that out there there are fewer specialized treatment centers and a greater need for short-mid range transportation.

However with that being said I would have figured that an Air Ambulance company would do well in the New York area especially for international patients or even some of the farther reaches of New England (Upstate ME, VT, NH)? Is it just my ignorance of the industry in general or is there just no demand there?

Thanks, happy flying

New England must really be devoid of Air Ambulance then!

I live in the Midwest and I know we have a decent amount. In the metro Detroit area, survival flight and Med Flight are two big ones.

I also used to live in Chicago and and Superior ambulance has an aviation dept that's pretty big.

I am a paramedic and in both Michigan and Chicago I have met up with flight crews to pick up patients from them relatively often. There are a lot of air ambulance companies that seem to be in the south. (Texas, Arizona, and Florida.) Can't say I've picked up a lot of patients who were air transported from NY area....

I think there are a number of helicopter outfits in the NE region (DART, Medflight, etc), and they have the range to get to the bigger metro areas that have the hospitals. Guess there aren't enough sparse areas to require a dedicated air ambulance company like in other regions.
