So Swayne Martin posts a video and a page about a 10 day hiring period starting today with Mokulele where they will hire at least 1 FO and 1 CA. I guess they like Swayne's videos and the reaction he has gotten from subscribers about working for Mokulele. No minimum time requirement for FO.
He says for the these 10 days they've lowered the minimums and waived the phone interview and prior simulator testing.
He explains it all in the video. Video and info to apply at this page:

So how does Mokulele benefit from this? Out of the hundreds of applications they get from this push it's got to be very likely they will end up hiring an FO with 500+ hours. Also, how are the other FO's able to survive in Hawaii on $21/hr without the Youtube money that he's making?
Money is certainly tight here as an FO, but once you upgrade things are doable. Most have saved up some before they come out here and live with roommates, eat cheaply, etc. Let me know if you have more questions!

I don't actually make any money directly off of YouTube videos. Sometimes I am paid for the time it took to the create the video - But not by views. I'd say Mokulele is benefitting from this because it gives them exposure to a new audience of pilots. Who knows? If they get a lot of qualified, good applicants it might end up being that they choose to hire more than just one or two people!

I get why you're doing it, but why is Rod? Seems like at his age he'd be vying for the majors instead.
More vids with the hot blonde and Haley please. I wish my captains looked like them.

Hey everyone!
New here and I just wanted to take some time to introduce myself.
My name is Erik and I will be in the July 17th class.
I'm a commercial ASEL/AMEL & CFI/II currently employed full-time as a flight instructor in Houston, TX. Right now, I'm sitting at 710TT and 90+ instrument (though I was hired back in May at ~ 585TT).
Can't wait to meet my classmates... see you all in a little over a week!

We worked with the FAA to secure permission to film these videos. We also have a clear set of operating guidelines that we're required to follow anytime we film. We follow all sterile cockpit policies and don't violate any FARs on PEDs in the cockpit - since there is no prohibition under Part 135. When you see me do something like talk to the camera briefly, it's only done in cruise flight and is kept to a minimum. With the Caravan legally being a single pilot plane, it make it easy to temporarily transition the workload onto the captain temporarily.

Exactly what luck is he going to need?
Lets see here
1) Company approved and supported
2) Part 135 Operation
3) Just guessing, but I would think some of the other clips that may be questionable came from a 91 leg
4) Electronic devices may be used so long as the PIC determines that they will not cause interference. Cameras included. (debateable at a 121)
What I cannot understand is why so many people knock this kid. He loves what he does and has a great attitude. Sure that may change if he flys at a regional (I almost guarantee it). I. the mean time he isnt doing anything wrong. Sure, he is a recruiter for Mokulele, but if he is happy let him be happy.
For myself I dont have a dog in this fight. Consider though that we regional guys usually uphold the 1500 hour argument stating that flying more hours is better. And that flying beyond instructing in advanced aircraft is even better. Arent these guys doing just that?

Just got a call to interview in Denver next week. I submitted my application around June 1. Currently at 350TT with a fresh IPC and Multi. I know there's a technical interview as well as the Redbird sim. Anyone have a fresh Gouge on the questions and approach? All I got was ILS hand flown to mins.
