Denver Air Connection isn't scary at all. Metros, DOJets, and a Brazilia, all doing mostly charter work. The metros are on a new 121 cert and last I heard the Brasilia and DOs were going to be added. They've been doing passenger work for years. Great group of guys.

Suburban Air already picks up some Denver UPS flying, and while AMF is free to underbid Key Lime, they will not because they do not have the local facilities to support it. The only way I see Key Lime losing that contract is if they undergo insoluble certificate problems or maybe if insurance gets too steep. They'll spiff up their safety program before doing anything else.
AMF ousted South Aero in Albuquerque last fall. AMF had no operations at ABQ and South Aero had been flying UPS feeder ops over twenty years. AMF also bought Wiggins on the east coast giving them both UPS and FedEx feeder routes.

I get the feeling that this thread is more about Key Lime's problems than what the title implies about Ameriflight.

Still, this is how rumors get started. People who don't read the thread, but keep seeing the title at the top of the part 135 forums....

Well ^ they call these websites rumor networks for a reason- you can run any idea up or down the flagpole as long as you play by the ground rules. I'd be interested in hearing why AMF has this alleged ability to undercut Key Lime in UPS freight contracts in Denver, though.

That's not entirely true. AMF had/has a DHL run out of ABQ that predates the UPS flying

Well, the AMF business model has been to undercut other freight companies to win bids. Why do you think AMF pilots have been the lowest paid for so long? It isn't rocket science. You operate on the thinnest margin, you make the most profit, and you can be the lowest bidder and get more business.

No kidding. The original question was about Key Lime messing up and it turned into an AMF bashing thread.

From what I have been told by long timers at AMF, the did have a base in Denver many years ago. We also had a run carrying Investor's Business Daily news papers up there several years ago to APA. I was told at the time that the hanger Air Net was using was actually leased from AMF. But I have no positive confirmation on that.

If AMF had the planes and pilots to do it and could make money if they did, I'm sure they would be bidding on any and all business up there. But right now they don't have the first two.
